Sailing through the Ebro region for 7 days
The Ebro River is the second largest river in the Iberian Peninsula after the Duero River and has its mouth in southern Catalonia, where it forms a spectacular delta. Its lands, although badly damaged by the storm Glòria this January, form a unique ecosystem and protected by the designation of Natural Park, which is well worth a visit. There we go on a varied seven-day excursion that combines sailing and cycling through the delta. All this and more in Tierras del Ebro.

Itinerary
One of our star routes, an interesting trip to the south of Catalonia, the lands of the Ebro. We propose this route as a combination of activities. First of all, sailing, our true passion, and then a tour by bike or on foot through the Ebro river delta, the largest wetland in Catalonia and declared a Natural Park in 1983.
We will stop in Sitges, and then continue to Sant Jordi de Alfama and Ametlla de Mar or La Cala, as it is known by the people of the region. It has 16 kms of coastline, with about 30 coves and beaches and oh! it is the 1st Catalan municipality in number of virgin beaches.
From there it is only 3 miles to L’Ampolla, considered the gateway to the beautiful Ebro Delta.
Very close to the town of l’Ampolla we find the Llacuna de les Olles, a lagoon connected directly to the sea and surrounded by rice fields and where if we want we can go by bike. Strolling through the delta, we are sure to see many birds, including the famous flamingos.
We will sail leaving the Ebro Delta to starboard, with the mouth of the most abundant river of the peninsula and arrive at Sant Carles de la Rapita, known for its restaurants where they serve rice and fish to lick your fingers.
This is where we will end our voyage.
