Around Menorca

Beautiful green Island, declared a Biosphere Reserve by UNESCO in 1993, for the wealth of its natural heritage.

Much less populated than its neighbour, Mallorca, is the first place where it dawns in all of Spain.

White sand beaches and crystal clear waters, impressive cliffs, unspoiled islets and beautiful sea beds. Small towns, rich popular and cultural traditions and varied gastronomy. Menorca has it all, that’s why it is our favourite!

Join us and sail around Menorca!

8 days tour around the island of Menorca to contemplate its 7 lighthouses and let ourselves be illuminated by them.

Travel in a sustainable way at Chronos, a beautiful 44ft long sailboat, which has all the comforts to spend a few days sailing in the Mediterranean.

Un tomb per l'illa de Menorca

If it wasn’t enough, it has up to 7 lighthouses, strategically located. With the island tour we offer you, we will see them all.

First one is located in Ciutadella, where we will arrive sailing from Port Marina Badalona. It is the second urban nucleus of the island of Menorca. It was the former capital until 1714, when the English gave the capital status to Mahón, who still holds it today. Its port, where we would moor, is considered one of the most beautiful in the Mediterranean.

But what is really spectacular are its beaches, very close to the town. We sail thre, anchor and take a bath in Cala’n Bosch, Cala Turqueta, Cala Macarella or Cala Macarelleta. Beautiful beaches with turquoise waters and fine white sands. When navigating here, we will have already passed the second lighthouse, that of Cap d’Andrutx.

We will continue through the south of the island, near Cala Galdana and Cala Trebalúger, a cove that is difficult to access on foot and which makes it not very populated. From there, Cala Escorxada and the largest beach in the island, Son Bou. Almost 3 km long and an average of 40 m wide sandy. We will anchor where we want and decide the captain, either in Cala Coves, or Beniparratx, or perhaps Cala’n Porter, with its white houses located in the middle of the rock. There, we could find the famous Cova d’en Xoroi and very close to Binibèquer, one of the most beautiful towns in Menorca.

We will ready to discover the third lighthouse, Isla del Aire lighthouse. The island’s name is due to the strong winds that blow on it, such as the Tramuntana. If they let us, we will cross between the island and Punta Prima and begin to climb the eastern side of the island towards its capital, Mahón. There, it is the fourth lighthouse, Punta de San Carles.

Around Menorca almarbcn

Mahón has one of the largest natural harbours in the world, with more than 5 km and for this reason alone it is worth a stop along the way. For this reason and for strolling through its historic centre and tasting the famous Gin Xoriguer or Mahón cheese.

We will continue sailing north, leaving the S’Albufera des Grau Natural Park on the left, and Cala Tortuga, towards the Cape of Favàritx, in the northeast corner of the island, where we will see the fifth lighthouse, that of Favàritx.

And from there to Fornells, famous for its lobster stew. Nearby is Cabo Caballeria, with the sixth lighthouse.

Coves that we find here are steep, wild, with cliffs that die directly into the sea: Cala Pilar, Cala Pregonda or Cala Morell until reaching the extreme northwest, with the Nati lighthouse, built in 1912 to avoid the constant shipwrecks that occurred on the north coast of Ciutadella. It is one of the most privileged places to watch the sunset, although we can go a little further south until we reach Pont d’en Gil, the favourite of many people.

And from here to Ciutadella, a walk! Again in this town, we will prepare all to start the return to Port Marina Badalona, where we plan to arrive around 6:00 pm on the 8th day.
