About us

Sailboat rental. Yes, but not only that.

We welcome you to Almarbcn.com, a place where we make sailing not a luxury and something available for everyone. We offer sailboat rental and more.

Our philosophy goes hand in hand with our love for the sea. We want to be respectful with it and with the whole environment, giving it back all the joys and magical moments that it has given us.

About us: we are a sustainable company, we sail whenever we can, we use the engine only to enter and leave the port. We prefer the silence of the sea to the speed of the propeller, the sails’ noise blown by the wind to the canned horses noise. In our trips, which take place throughout the year, in addition to sharing the passion for the sea and navigation, synergies are created and make the regular sailors group bigger every day and go beyond the simple business relationship.

We have prepared 3-hour morning, afternoon or night excursions, full day trips that let you know a wine culture at Maresme Coast or find cetaceans in Garraf Coast. We would like to participate in club Regattas, or weekend tours, or share multi-day outings by the Catalan coast, the Balearic Islands, or the long-awaited Escala a Sète and Sardinia.

During the journeys, you can participate in the navigation tasks or simply enjoy and relax. Meals on board, good conversations and music, comfortable silences, baths on the high seas … all this and more is what we offer you aboard Chronos, our beloved sailboat.

We hope to have you well among us soon!

The Boat

Alfons Martí - the skipper

A sea passionate person speaks to you.

Since I got the title of yacht skipper in 1989, my life has always been related to the sea, sailing and navigation, three fundamental elements for me.

I acquired and restored two classic wooden boats, “L’Absurd”, from 1964, a Marconi sloop and “Ana”, a 1952 motorboat, 28 and 31 feet respectively, with which I sailed alone and accompanied along the entire Catalan coast.

I have participated in several regattas, such as La Ruta de la Sal (Barcelona-Ibiza), as well as some club regattas, such as the Travesía del Equinocci, the Badalona Sailing Club league, or the Puig Classic Sailboats Regatta. I also collaborate as a volunteer at the Barcelona Maritime Museum (MMB) in its Floating Heritage section as skipper of one of their boats, the Drac (Dragon-class boat from 1964).

In 2011 I created AlmarBcn with different perspectives: the most important, that all people of any social class could reach to sail. For this reason I created the Barcelonautes Navigation Club. The other section was aimed at companies and with the idea of transferring training in business skills (Team Building) from the classroom to the ship.

I obtained the title of Yacht Captain in 2015 and a year later I met Miguel and his father with whom I associated, managing the Amariha boat until a few months ago.

In 2019 I obtained the PPER, in addition to other professional degrees and certificates, a reason that I have just decided to, in early 2020, and together with my partner, Inma and my son Ulisses, acquire Chronos, the boat that we have presented to you and with which we invite you to make the outings that we detail on the web.

You see, my passion, sailing through life and the sea!

Inma García - The coordinator

I, Inma, began to have a relationship with the sea when I met Alfons, three years ago. I love mountains and hiking, but I have discovered the sea, its silence has captivated me … I have learned to respect it, and to obey it, to know that is it who leads, we let ourselves be carried away, admiring it…

Travel has always been my passion and I was very lucky to be able to turn it into my modus vivendi. I know Tourism closely, and I am very critical of current tourism models, such as those that have destroyed my city, Barcelona. I believe in another kind of tourism, one that helps communities and people, but is respectful with the environment, traditions and cultures of each territory, I believe in sustainable tourism. And, what is more sustainable than being guided by the winds?

Graduate in Tourism since 1999 at the University of Girona. I studied this career to travel, to know places and meet people and I did it a lot, working as a tourist guide for several travel agencies, and traveling on my own around the world: me and my rucksack

When I felt that I need to stabilize my life, both, personal and professional, and stay still, I ended up in the hotel world, where I have been for 20 years. I became head of reception and hotel manager. I was in charge of the hotel management and organization, I coordinated the reception staff with the other departments staff, and I kept control of budgets, invoicing and credits, reservations and daily revenue, in addition of customer relations and conflict management and resolution. And all of these is the experience that I can provide, with love, to AlmarBcn.

Ulisses Martí - the sailor

What I like is trying to understand the world and acquire knowledge. I am currently studying a degree in Physics and I plan to continue to be involved in the world of science as much as possible. I do not have many anecdotes or experiences to share that are relevant in this small presentation, but I can say that I really enjoy contact with nature, especially water and the sea. I think it is necessary (or at least beneficial) for the human being, as for any animal, to be in constant relationship with nature. Moments of silence surrounded only by water and with the occasional company of some animals, they are revitalizing moments.

If I have to highlight a second thing about navigating, it is that part where you have to face adverse situations, calmly and rationally, in order to ensure the best result. The unpredictability of water is one of the factors that I enjoy the most, and one of the other benefits that I attribute to navigation. Stoicism is a virtue that is acquired by facing situations that take you out of your comfort zone, and the more unpredictable an event is, the more you can grow in this regard.

Apart from that, I like music, I play the drums and I enjoy exercising (a healthy mind in a healthy body, they say). I am not a person who likes to talk too much about herself, so sorry if your presentation was short, and thanks for reading.
