Ebro Lands

Ebro River is the second largest river in the Iberian Peninsula after the Duero River and has its estuary in the south of Catalonia, where it forms a spectacular delta. Its lands, although severely damaged by the Glòria storm this January, make up a unique ecosystem protected by the denomination of Natural Park, which is well worth a visit. We go there on a varied three-day excursion where sailing and cycling in the delta are combined.

Sailing through Ebro Lands!

3 and a half days excursion through the lands of southern Catalonia. We will combine sailing with walks on foot or by bicycle through the Ebro Delta Natural Park.

All the trips are with skipper, Alfons, a sea wolf, in love with his profession and always ready to share his knowledge with all of you.

Terres de l'Ebre

One of our star routes, an interesting trip to the lands of southern Catalonia, the Ebro Lands. We propose this route as a combination of activities. First of all, sailing, our true passion, and then a bike or foot tour through the Ebro river delta, the largest wetland in all of Catalonia and declared a Natural Park in 1983.

We will leave Badalona in the afternoon to cover the 84 miles that separate us from Sant Jordi de Alfama. Sailing during the night, to better take advantage of the 3 days in the southern area. We will take the dinner on board. Night navigation will allow us to enjoy starry skies, the moonlight and the silence of the sea.

In the morning, shortly after breakfast, we will have arrived. We will relax, stroll along the beach and eat there, and then continue to L’Ametlla de Mar. It has 16 km of coastline, with about 30 coves and beaches and it is the 1st municipality in number of virgin beaches. We will spend the night in this typically fishing village. Free dinner

Next day, after breakfast on the boat, we will sail to l’Ampolla de Mar, about 3 miles away. Its name is due to the shape of the old estuary of the Ebro river (bottle in Catalan) and it is considered the gateway to the beautiful Ebro Delta. Very close to the urban nucleus we find the Llacuna de les Olles, a lagoon directly connected with the sea and surrounded by rice paddies and where, if we want, we can go by bicycle. Strolling through the delta, surely allows us to see numerous birds, including the famous flamingos. Whoever decides can stay in L’Ampolla to enjoy the town and its interesting restaurants.

Next day, very early, we will start heading back to Badalona. We will spend the whole day sailing, enjoying the sea and hoping to meet a playful dolphin. We will take the lunch on board, to, in the afternoon, arrive at port.
